Chilpyk is a Zoroastrian dakhma on an isolated hill 45 km southeast of Nukus, built around the turn of the era. A stepped path climbs from the roadside in about twenty minutes, and the top looks over the Amu Darya valley and the edge of the Kyzylkum. The wind never stops here — bring a hat and sunglasses.
