Jayron is a fenced desert reserve 42 km southeast of Bukhara where goitered gazelle, kulan and Bukhara deer are bred. Entry is arranged in advance and you walk with a staff member: a one- to two-hour loop through desert grasses, a salt flat and dunes at the edge of the Kyzylkum. Early morning or late afternoon is when the animals are out.
